Otherwise he shared his support for "wokeness" because "everything it stands for is, essentially, great".

This right here is why the gay rights movement is in the situation it is in the first place. As long as wokeness doesn't affect them, gay rights activists gladly pushed all aspects of it. Now they give the Pikachu face when they realize that it's been turned on gay rights. Equality is a great thing to fight for. Wokeness is just racism and bigotry in a different form that previous generations. If you are on board with any of it then you are supporting ALL of it.

Cisgendered gay men rate pretty low on the woke honor scale.

At this point I've seen way too many people saying that gay men are worse than straight men.

It isn't hard to find people saying that the gay community is the most sexist, racist, transphobic, fatphobic, classist, problematic group ever.

Yeah I'm sorry but as a lesbian women I don't think gay men are much better than straight men. They're as sexist, misogynistic and racist as straight dudes. But also I received a lot more comments about my looks, my make up, how I dress, and how fit or unfit I am from gay friends than straight friends, because they think they get a pass to say shitty things because they're not attracted to us.

That’s right. White gay men are constantly bombarded with accusations of bigotry by the woke left.

Well said. Everett is still supporting the foundations of this trans madness without even realising it.

Let's face it: gays rights activism it's not where the money is anymore.

The TRA movement in the other hand is a profitable and gives good publicity (at least for now) for the big name corporations that virtue signal about it.

Just you wait: when shit hits the fan, most of them will hide their heads in a hole somewhere and pretend this shit never happened, in the same way that the companies that supported the nazis did.

Of course the TRA movement is profitable. A transsexual has to take hormones all the time, and visit the doctor frequently. Pharma companies profit off of this. A gay person is just gay, so we’re not profitable.

Eh, gay men are being sold on PrEP as a medical necessity.

But I'm happy being monogamous and free of pharmaceutical dependencies.

Big Pharma is pushing PrEP and Truvada on gay men. And also encouraging us to have unprotected sex with HIV positive people. Also, California reduced the penalty for knowingly passing HIV onto someone without telling them from a felony to a misdemeanour. They really want us to buy their products.

Unfortunately for Big Pharma, gay and bisexual men are 5% of the male population, but you can convince anyone to be trans.

And also encouraging us to have unprotected sex ...

I'm glad I'm not the only gay man who sees what's really going on.

Freedom comes with responsibility, but a lot of woke people can’t handle responsibility.

I know this might be a little off topic, but I really hate the effects the modern "qweer culture" had on this debate. They basically applied the same modus operandi used in the "genital preference" (ugh..) discussions here: "if you don't fuck a HIV+ guy you're a bigot ! You bigot!"

It's because of shit like this that regions that experienced massive declines in HIV infections are now getting the numbers back up.

Disgusting. I have nothing against people living with HIV, but I just don’t want to deal with it. I don’t want to get it. So I will never have unprotected sex with any man who has it. They say HIV isn’t as deadly as it used to be, but that is because medicine is available to keep it from turning into AIDS. You have to take that medicine a lot, and it’s not cheap. And that’s if you don’t have diabetes or cancer.

Eh, gay men are being sold on PrEP as a medical necessity.

The market for this is way smaller and localized than the TRA one to be truly profitable.

But again: I live on a country with a public health system which gives this shit for "free", so my perception about this might be a little off.

[–]Willpoll 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Out of pocket in the US, PrEP at least used to cost like close to two thousand bucks a month which is crazy, especially with the emphasis in the US about being "open minded" when it comes to sex and people with stds.

SRS on the other hand has a starting cost of about 15K but usually ranges closer to 25k or about one thousand dollars more then a years worth of PrEP by US standards. However you also have to crunch the numbers on HRT which I think has a median rate of around 15 thousand dollars. so that's around 40K for the full treatment minus facial reconstruction.

However most people paying for PrEP will be likely receiving some help whether it be from the gov, job benefits, or health insurance. The PrEP market is delayed gratification for big pharma while full srs gets you all the money at once

edit: it's two thousand bucks a month for PrEP, not two thousand a year

Whoa, Russia banned gay marriage?

Surprised they hadn’t already done so long ago, given that it’s been constitutionally banned in countries more gay friendly than Russia, like Croatia, Hungary and Cambodia.

[–]ANIKAHirsch 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Huh. When was it first made legal in Russia, or was it always legal there?

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

It was not legal there, it was just not illegal. If someone had married outside of Russia, their marriage still was counting as marriage by "international law". Now it is not counted as marriage anymore, and any attempts to make gay marriage inside country are banned. You can still go transgender, get sex changed in documents and get married after, but they want to ban this as well, as they are seeing this as "way gay people can cheat the law" (their propaganda is showing transgenders as just regular gay men).

What was illegal there is "gay propaganda" and "being gay on public". To a point that if you try to help gay who is being beaten and say "homophobia is bad" - you will be charged as well.

Gay marriage was never legal in Russia. They’ve never even had civil partnerships there. This constitutional amendment makes it illegal for the government to legalise gay marriage.

[–]ANIKAHirsch 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Oh I see. How common is that type of legislation?

[–]jiljol 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

With the very real possibility of a 6-3 Conservative SCOTUS majority, and with multiple Justices being staunch opponents of same-sex unions under the banner of "freedom of religion" (never "freedom FROM religion"), the future of same-sex marriage in the US seems uncertain. Let's see if these former gay rights organizations are willing to do some course correction or if they'd rather die at the altar of tRanS rIgHts.

We need to amend the constitution to allow freedom from religion, especially Christianity and Islam, which have done the most to attack homosexuality and gay people.
