Donald Trump really was the worst thing to happen to progressivism. Sure, this shit was being pushed before him, but 2016 really ramped up the "drink any cool-aid that calls itself progressive because if not you're WITH TRUMP!" Thus every "progressive" in the Anglosphere was suddenly completely onboard with every drop of TRA rhetoric because it's "progressive" and "fighting Trumpism".

US politics was already fucked beyond repair, but the Trump derangement syndrome causing the radicalization of run-of-the-mill progressives to "leftist" radlibs was really the nail in the coffin.

Tbh, I prefer the conservative homophobes because they actually understand and acknowledge what homosexuality and bisexuality are. Liberal homophobes take their bigotry and add gaslighting, character assassination, and complete detachment from reality. It makes any real discussion impossible. You can at least talk to the conservatives.

But please do keep in mind that more than one thing at a time can be bad, and the conservatives are still homophobic too and would still get rid of us if they could.

They're just a bit quieter these days, because they don't have to do anything, because "The LGBTQIA+" is tearing itself apart and all they have to do is sit back and enjoy the show.

They're still there and still bad, but at the very least they're a known enemy. The LGB community has been fighting them from the beginning. But TRA bullshit? How do you even tell your allies from your "allies" any more? As you say, doing the con's work for them.

I appreciate this comment. I know a lot of people here have moved on from having to deal with conservative homophobia so much, but currently I am trying to wrap my head around the damage done to me from conservative homophobia, AND deal with "progressive" homophobia in the present day. It's a lot.

The conservative homophobes (at least in the US) are much less of a pain to deal with now. We kinda know the book on them and how to deal with their usual tactics. It's the left-wing woke lunatics that we haven't quite solved yet.

Nice seeing some of violetdioxazine's comics here she did some good stuff on this subject. Woke homophobia I am more unsettled by in some ways, just as homophobia becomes less accepted they shame us again.

Sad hearing about gay people escaping homophobic environments and in some instances, conversion therapy but then faced with these people.
