Literally the most fuckign basic google search tells me that "binary" comes from "binarius" meaning "composed of two things." There is nothing about "dichotomy" or "opposites" (considering that's "trans"!). It is used more colloquially to mean "two options", hence, "gender binary." Also, just cause I was curious, "dimorphism" derives from the Greek "two" and "forms." Hence humans are sexually dimorphic, that is, having two sexual forms.

Bicolor, bicycle, binary, bimodal, bilateral, bilingual... Always two things.

I'm double (heh) enraged because my main language is Italian, and I know pretty well the meaning of that prefix.

These people are trying to change half vocabulary because some people can't accept reality. I'm speechless.

And near the end they are saying "it means two, but not number two". And even saying about "dichotomy" they are still referring to "two".

"Bi doesnt mean the number it, it means something else which means the number two"

"yes, a dichotomy means two things, but it does not mean the literal number two"

Well, no shit. It means two items, not the word or arabic numeral that we associate with the dichotomy: 2 two

How mentally agile are they to do all this mental gymnastics to validate their disorders?

What absolutely enrages me (as someone interested in foreign languages) is these woke fucks running around that clearly don't know a WORD of a foreign language trying to force every language that ever existed to conform not only to English, but to English politics. They think they're some philosopher-God that can create reality by speaking, yet they can't even be bothered to respectfully learn another language and understand a different culture. So selfish imo.

Ah yes, two is in the definition, therefore the word must always and only mean literally the number two, right?

Please, quit being less dense. And maybe stow the condescension, especially when you're wrong.

Yeah, of course, words have no meaning anymore in their magic cult. Orwellian.

The lengths they go to to try to make this stuff make sense just blows my mind. The only thing I find more incomprehensible than how desperately they will pull at and attempt to manipulate language is the fact that they’ve gotten other people to go along with it. I remember being one of those people who supported this nonsense and literally having to remind myself daily not to look too deep into it, to just accept it. This is so ridiculous. Like- even if bi doesn’t mean two, doesn’t non-binary mean neither? So how would it be included in any sexuality if the point is being neither male or female? As a bisexual myself I can confirm it definitely doesn’t hurt me to not accept this crap.

[–]blackrainbow 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

People get along because of guilt, apparently. They want to do the "right thing"

They want to do the "right thing"

And they are ending doing "radical right-wing thing".

I'm fond of this particular argument, because it definitely is the case that the non-binary people wandered into the wrong party in this case. If you are neither one nor the other, then you are not even part of the bisexuality equation. (Except when we come up with a fake definition for "bisexual.")

My penis is my third leg. And half of my left hand is leg too, but only half-way leg, it is non-binary, so it is leg and hand at the same time.

I should identify as ambidextrous. I haven't fucking got two functioning hands, but you can't stop me, you ... manophobe.

I just made that word up, so it's definitely true now.

It simply isn't possibly to debate logically with people who use no logic.

I hate the "language evolves" argument the people try to use as well. Like yes, the meaning of words can change. Slowly, organically, over time. It doesn't suddenly change because a group of idiots wake up one morning and decide to become offended by its definition.

Let me guess. This person who wants to "remind" other people about their new, made-up version of history and reality is a child. And...why, yes: https://archive.vn/zNZew

Sixteen is not tall enough to ride this ride.

You know, you, too, have the entire Internet at your disposal; questions like this mostly make me wonder if the person asking them is trying to be a troll—are you, or do you just not want to do any checking yourself? This is very easy to verify; I didn't toss in the specific link because I was trying to avoid the appearance of encouraging brigading, and I would hope as the OP you would want to check whether such an utterance was real before sharing it anyway (right?):

If they are so offended by this, why not just choose "pansexual" and make peace with that? The normal people can say "bi" instead. It would make it easier on the bisexual community.

[–]CleverNickName 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That's why they don't. They don't want to make it easy on the normal people. They need to invade the entire notion of bisexuality, and homosexuality, and gender-non-conformity.

For some reason, they don't much go after the heterosexuals. I wonder why...

[–]peaked2020 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Not sure if I buy that they’re malicious as much as maybe stupid... or maybe childish?

I picture a kid running through a department store. Then they find the LGBT aisle. All the marketing says that it’s such a cool and unique club. They want a ticket into the club. They want a ticket into every club that makes them socially aware and special. They want to belong, like teenagers do.

Maybe our marketing team needs to tone it down a bit... show pictures of us eating Indian takeout on the bed on a Saturday night. Haha

[–]PenseePansyBio-Sex or Bust 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Show pictures of ME! That'll scare 'em away!

Uncoolness incarnate...

Always thought, during the days when all us LGB people were being urged to come out: "seriously, guys-- you want people like me to STAY IN!"

But now? Maybe I can put being LGB PR-kryptonite to good use!

Bisexuals can be attracted to non-binary people because they are either male or female. The non-binary crowd can whine all they want, but they still are part of the sexual binary and bisexual still means attracted to the two sexes.

[–]Q-Continuum-kin 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Binary only counts up to 1 so there is no 2. Muh logic!

So if I draw a zero on a golf ball and a 1 on another then drop them in front of you, are you going to tell me that there aren't 2 balls?

Yeeeah, this is why I was a bit okay with these silly clowns using "pansexual" instead of bisexual...(even though there's only TWO sexes and trans/non-binary people will always be the sex they were born as even if they deny it...)

Liking trans/non binary people is a preference and not a sexual orientation. Bisexuals AREN'T normally drawn toward trans and non-binary...

I wish they would leave the bisexual orientation alone or at least use it correctly...

I have a friend who uses the term pansexual instead of bi to describe her additional attraction to trans and non-binary.
