I'd point out that it's in a country where homosexual marriage has been legal for 3 years. Homosexuality itself has been legal for decades longer.

I think that this distinction is relevant because there are many countries in which not only we can't get married, but we can actually get send to jail or killed for being gay. And like you said, big corporations aren't using their power to advocate for change in these countries.

And where it only became illegal nation-wide to fire someone for their sexual orientation THIS YEAR. There was still tons to be done after Obergefell but all the orgs switched courses.

I don't have a problem with the advert, but I don't understand who it's supposed to be reaching? LGB people are <5% of the population and afaik nobody asked to see Ronald McDonald kissing the Burger King so I don't get it.

Yeah, wasnt the ad itself but why? It's more of it being a corporation being well... Typical corporation. I know there was this one TY channel that they did not like it at all.
