1000% agree. She is either a blatant liar is or is okay with being VP to a rapist. If I had to guess, I would say the first.

This is why if you want to bring about change in your country, you need to collectivise with your friends, neighbours, family and colleagues, and pressure the government. As opposed to waiting for someone good to get elected president. Politicians feel the pressure of lobbyists all the time. The pressure from the community has to be stronger than the pressure from the lobbyists.

Don't forget the primaries. We don't have them here in Ireland, but there is no limit on how many candidates our political parties can run in each constituency for elections in Ireland. There could be six candidates from the same party in my constituency, for example. So it's easier for a saner person to run for office, though still quite hard.

Living in a country with a multi-seat constituency system can have its perks.

Many of our states had their primaries last week. It sounds like you have something akin to proportional representation, which is definitely not the system we are laboring under.

Our system is better, but we still manage to elect shitty politicians. These politicians are backed by the state media, RTÉ, who are a monopoly for the most part, as their competitors are small (and mostly in agreement with RTÉ). Theoretically, Americans could elect a candidate who is neither republican nor democratic, but it seems like your media is pretending that third parties either don't exist, or that they are weak and incompetent. Don't know much about your third parties.

A third party in the US doesn't exist because of almost insurmountable rules.

They are both doing it to win easy "progressive" points. Biden is no different. Most politicians get truckloads of lobbyist funding, so it is possible he is more zealous than her for that reason, if he is being fed by trans lobbyists.

I'm feeling too lazy to find a source about it right now, but people have posted about it here before, about how billionaires (e.g. Pritzker family) are making loads of money from transgender medical drugs. Would not be surprised if one or both of these two are involved in that.

I think it doesn't really matter what they believe, because they will do whatever the tra's want. The mainstram lgbtq+ is calling the shots, not us. I think progressives will push them further left.

As a poster over on s/gendercritical noted, Harris has made sure to have her pronouns in her Twitter bio, because otherwise we would never have been able to guess them /s

Kamala Harris had 1500+ people jailed for weed offences. She also then claims she smokes weed herself.

KH like all politicians is a lying piece of shit scumbag. Whose ONLY interest is her own rise to power. They will jump on whatever bandwagon they feel will do the most service in providing an upward trajectory to her desires for more power.

I don't know who is worse. A person who does a bad thing with good intentions? Or a person who does a bad thing, knowing that it is wrong, just for their own benefit. Either way, Kamala Harris would put thousands of young gay and lesbian children on transgender hormones if she had the power to do so. So, if I was American, I'd be against Joe Biden becoming president for this very reason. And given his senile nature, Kamala Harris would be the president within months of Biden becoming president.

[–]insta 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (7 children)

A person who does a bad thing with good intentions?

There's no clear cut black and white answer to this but well intentioned evil is worse IMO. Utopians are fucking dangerous; the idea of "doing bad in the name of the greater good" has lead to death of millions. Every utopian idiot thinks that their means are justified because the goal is so pure and good.

At least the selfish person is easy to predict.

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Utopians? Meet the Democrats in the California state legislature.

On the transgender demands issue, the Democrats in the California state legislator are also really fucking dumb - they're about to pass a bill that would allow men to self-identify as women and be housed in women's jails - and/or corrupt as fuck. Men's fee-fees over women's safety.

For instance, Scott Wiener, the Democratic California state senator who pushes all the Transgender Lobby bills receives money from a company, Gilead Sciences, that makes Truvada and sponsors the transgender march on Washington DC. Trans have a much higher rate of HIV, but I think there's something more with Gilead pushing the TRA agenda.

So, I'm with you to some extent. Utopians, especially when they're not really Utopians, like many Democrats in the California state legislature, they're just pushing "inclusion" because they're being paid to do so, can be really dangerous.

[–]insta 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Utopians? Meet the Democrats in the California state legislature.

Yes. There is a huge problem with idiotic utopians in our society right now. I dunno if you noticed but every second person thinks we're just like one policy implementation away from the promised land. We only need to socially engineer a little more and then we'll have the new Soviet Man.

receives money from a company, Gilead Sciences, that makes Truvada and sponsors the transgender march on Washington DC.

This kind of stuff is what I throw in the face of everyone who thinks we can simply "Get money out of politics". Everyone thinks "money in politics" are just oil companies buying off congress or something but they never view their preferred social activist groups as "money in politics". This is a tangent but just something that bothers me about people who don't actually think through their own ideas. LGBT groups lobbying congress is still "money in politics" equal to some big pharma company lobbying for something else. The only difference is some view "money in politics" as good and others as bad. There's no consistency.

That's true. It's easier to predict the selfish person. But you can convince the well intentioned person to think things through- actually, it's extremely rare that you can convince an extremist. Regardless, it's better to oppose both of them. There are people out there who have both good intentions and a decent level of sanity.

    [–]insta 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

But you can convince the well intentioned person to think things through-

On the flip side, you can also align your interests with the selfish man. That's basically what capitalism is. We don't allow the selfish man to just rob or take the money of those weaker, we force him to sell something of value or trade his labor for money. Ergo, we use the selfish man's (also in all of us as well) goals and align them with ours. If you want money Mr. Selfish Man, you're going to have to fix my furnace and I'll pay you for it.

The problem with the well intentioned person doing evil is it's very hard to convince them that their ends are not justified. The more you try to do so, the more you become the very obstacle for their ends.

You're right about the selfish man. But selfish people are selfish for different reasons. Some are selfish for money. Some want power. A selfish person who wants to be in control of eberyinf is not going to be bribed by money, especially if this person is rich. But you are especially right about the well intentioned person doing evil. A lot of them are brainwashed fools.

Kamala Harris left California's 40 million residents to fend for themselves in order to run for president almost as soon as she got into the Senate. Now, she's leaving California, in the middle of a pandemic, and resultant economic disaster, to run for VP.

Why is no one calling her out on the fact that she didn't do her job as a Senator, yet they think she's fit to run for president (basically, because IMO Biden isn't going to last long)?

The word "flake" comes to mind, along with "opportunist." Hardly presidential, but then look who we have in the White House now...

But the fact that Harris doesn't seem to actually give a shit about constituents or her job is why I think that Harris also doesn't actually give a flying F about the L, G, B, T, Q, 2A, whatever. To her, it's all about political expediency. In that way, she's Trump-ish.

On the plus side, if Harris sees that the majority of the US is against penised "women" in their little Mykyla's locker room, she might drop the T too.

"Why is no one calling her out on the fact that she didn't do her job as a Senator...?"

Because it's California and everyone's used to it. If she did her job, half the state would die of shock... [Edit:] and they would count them as Covid deaths.

    [–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

People used to call California the Land of Fruits and Nuts, but actually there are a lot of conservatives in California.

There are also a lot of immigrants in CA - it's something like 40% of CA households don't speak English at home - and many of them don't vote. A few years ago, I was shocked to find out that California has one of the lowest voter participation rates in the US.

The no one votes thing kind of explains why California just lets Harris and Feinsteins' corruption slide, and why the California state legislature could LARP as a lunatic asylum and no one would notice.

    [–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It is very obvious why, thought. A lot of mobile, IT-tech, movie, gaming, comics companies are all placed in California. And a lot of workers in those fields are often people who run from their countries to USA, as tech schools and universities are good in many countries in the world, which have no work places for tech specialists, so they are going to USA instead, and ending up somewhere in California.

Man, wouldn't it be great if pressuring a couple of relatively-sane people is our only challenge in the near future. Given that we can't go shopping for an ideal candidate about this, we'll just have to ride their butts once they're elected, just as we do with Congress. So it doesn't much matter. They can do whatever gets them the most votes. (Seriously, I'm not going to be sad about some TRA tears later.) I'm sure that isn't what some want to hear, but there is no Planet B. These are two actual human beings who are capable of changing their minds. I will worry about this AFTER we get them elected.

Either way this shit is a marathon, so lace up.

    [–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I have been around politics for decades and I say, based on experience, that we have almost zero control about what politicians will do, except vote, but even then, a lot of voting has been corrupted.

For instance, The Smirking Chimp, George Dubya, did not actually win Ohio in 2004. I witnessed, firsthand, all sorts of vote fraud that swung Ohio to Bush.

Especially in the last few years, and especially with the Democrats and Trans Demands Activism, what politicians do after getting into office is almost 100% controlled by lobbyists. Also, what we citizens know about politics is almost 100% from a press that has also been corrupted by lobbyists.

Even the "Left" press like NPR and Democracy Now! is receiving a shitload of money from Trans, Inc., as well as other donors about other issues, and you can tell if you watch/listen to them. Or just look at their finances.

Look at the Hallelujahs Harris is receiving from the Lefty press. Again, I have been alive for many elections, and participated as a volunteer in quite a few - what actually does Harris bring to the table beyond her skin color? She's intelligent, but so are dozens of other black female politicians. Harris was probably chosen because she is notably one of the politicians with no core mission - she sways with the wind, or rather with her donors.

So, sadly, if you think we will be able to change Biden (who is so in bed with the Gender Lobby that his Biden foundation is partnered with an organization, Gender Spectrum, that is going into schools and trying to make gay kids transgender) and Harris (who in CA could get Big Pharma and tech TRA money) once they get into office, think again.

It will probably be conservatives and independents, and on the local level, who will raise such a stink about their kids being propagandized into being transgender, that politicians will be forced to listen. And then the backlash against T will eventually reach national politics, but that could take years.

And as everyone on this sub know, the backlash of the T+ could also lead to a backlash against LGB - that GLAAD Harris poll seems to indicate it's already started.

So pls get out there and tell people that, while you 100% support trans having the same, not greater, the same, civil rights as everyone else, LGB and TQ+ are not the same and so don't support trans DEMAND activism in your name.

If the Dems win the Senate and the presidency, and the Equality Act is signed into law as they will do, and Americans start to see that it means that men can access spaces that women need for safety, I guarantee that the backlash against the LGB will be horrible.

I mean, they are literally speaking, two human beings. I'm not sure about Harris but in my opinion, Biden is just a step away from being Trump. Racist, corrupt as hell, long history of sexually assaulting women. I feel sick at the thought of voting for him but I'm going to have to do it anyway because court justice selection and international perception make a difference. Just my 2 cents.

Harris? She's been an LGBTQ + supporter, but then she had to be because California. I feel she'd throw any one of those letters under the bus if it would help her, so maybe she could be persuaded to consider LGB as one entity, and TQ +++ as another?

Everything establishment dems do is social virtue signaling so they can get away with passing right wing "compromise" economic policy.

In their minds it's a positive thing to consolidate more money and power into a smaller ruling class while increasing diversity by 5%.

    [–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

In terms of corporations, some of this "diversity" stuff seems to be just a way to keep distracted US workers from rising up as wages and benefits tank. For instance, we were recently told that we can't use "guys" as in, "Hi, guys."

Since English doesn't have the plural "you" many people in the US use "guys" as the plural "you," not meaning ACTUAL MALES.

In the meantime, what is it 30% of Americans haven't paid their August rent?

But yes, Big Brother corporations want to make sure that we self-police our words, because gawd forbid we use a harmless colloquialism like "guys," even as female employees avoid using the new "gender neutral" bathroom because there might be a goddamn male in there.

Speaking of the people I work with, the over-the-top PC stuff is having the opposite effect, plus it's exhausting to have to self-police every single thing you say throughout the workday.

I think this corporate two-facedness, "diversity" and whatever PC trend going, instead of a living wage, will lead to many Independents staying home or voting against Harris/Biden rather than for Trump. Because people aren't rational, they sometimes (often?) vote out of irritation at the little things rather than for their own self-interest.

    [–]Q-Continuum-kin 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Since English doesn't have the plural "you"

"You" is the plural form already but we don't really use pronouns to say hi. ("Thou" is the singular form that we don't use anymore. "You" is a plural borrowed over to singular.)

Honestly we should just revert to Latin greetings since they had explicit singular and plural forms. Just walk into the office and yell "Salvatae!"
