I'm sick of being told that being a lesbian means I'm a 'feminine presenting person exclusively sexually attracted to feminine presenting people'. I'm butch and I'm mostly attracted to butch women. By their logic I guess this means that I'm actually a gay man on the inside.

I'm sick of being told that, in the UK, life is as bad for trans people now as it was for LGB people in 80s.

I'm sick of our historical lesbian and/or GNC women being erased from history like they tried to do with Anne Lister's Plaque.

Most of all I'm sick of homophobic parents being given a way to 'cure' their childs homosexuality and being applauded by the media and public for doing so.

This this this. I'm actually a femme lesbian only attracted to other femmes, so I happen to be attracted to femininity BUT I'm not attracted to feminine guys, well, because they are MEN! Simple as that. I'm a lesbian because I'm exclusively attracted to women. Full stop. All the rest, such as liking more femininity or masculinity, are simple preferences WITHIN your sexual orientation.

I've heard of butch lesbians presenting as transmen and then go searching for other transmen. Basically it's a new level of being butch, one filled with sexism and delusion, where lesbians pretend to be gay men.

I have not known a single butch (or even just slightly tomboy) lesbian irl who is now age 35 or younger and HASN'T at some point identified as a man or non-binary. Many of them have taken testosterone. It's a social contagion. Young lesbians would go to college seeing themselves as lesbians, see a bunch of the butch lesbians start to identify as men starting with those in gender studies and spreading outwards, and they would see this trans narrative as the explanation for why they felt different, and then so many lesbians were identifying as trans that new lesbians would get male pronouns assumed and have a bunch of people asking whether they'd started T yet, etc. Speaking from personal experience. We lost the role models who showed us that being a masculine woman is not a pathology, including some older women 50+ I've known who transitioned to "straight men" in the last five years after a lifetime in feminism and proclaiming pride as a butch lesbian. Now this seems to be starting in high school more often as it's gained prominence on social media sites and more generally, and affecting more straight girls too.

Right? I've seen people claiming that gay men are attracted to masculinity too, which excludes all non-masculine cis men.

We are being exclusionary, but sexuality always is. Straight men are being exclusionary of other men, but that's their sexuality. But we are being consistent and clear on how we are exclusionary.

Their logic depends on being exclusionary too, but they pretend it doesn't. For this logic to work, they have to exclude non-masculine men and non-feminine women and then pretend they aren't doing it. On one moment they say that gay men are attracted by anyone who identifies as men (including trans men), but on the following moment they demand that gay men include non-binary people who don't identify as men.

Same here.I am so sick with femaleness being confused for femininity. I am so tired of being accused of trying to be "a man" or "acting like a man" or that males in makeup and frocks are better women than me.

Ugh, the 'acting like a man' thing bothers me. I remember reading on the butch subreddit ages ago how 'deeply offensive' it is to give a butch woman flowers because men don't want to recieve flowers.

I like flowers. I'm sure many men would like them as a gift as well.

Same here. I lost count the number of times I was accused of "being a man".
