What I find interesting is when two 'oppressed' groups are at odds and people online have to pick which to support. For some reason when it's homosexuality versus Islam people tend to support Islam.

The whole Jeff Goldblum incident earlier this year where, on Drag Race, he asked a Muslim queen of Iranian heritage who was wearing a hijab on the runway if Islam was anti-women and anti-homosexuality did my head in. Bearing in mind that Iran frequently executes gay men and the Hijab is compulsary unless women want to be jailed. Twitter were furious and full of woke white knights saying that there was nothing even slightly homophobic or sexist about Islam and it was racist to suggest otherwise. Even when gay ex-Muslim people said 'actually, there is is an issue here', they were shouted down as being ignorant.

I don't support people harrassing or attacking random Muslim people but you should be able to criticise Islam the same way that you should be able to criticise Catholicism or Judaism or the Church of England or Scientology or any other religion.
