"labels don't matter and you can be anything" you know what sure ok YOU can but that ends when another person has their own label and boundaries

I love when they say labels don't matter to them but they go on to label themselves as a "demi queer trans" and expect you to validate their feelings and if you don't get their pronouns right they have a temper tantrum and say you are literally killing them.

It's excellent doublethink.

The only answer to this is that they really are fucking stupid.

I think the idea of words not having meanings is the source of 90% of this bullshit. If a word meant nothing, you would have no reason to use it. There is such a demand for access to words like “lesbian” because they do know what it means and like the idea of being seen that way, even if it isn’t true. Otherwise we’d see just as much demand for identifying as a turtle or an Xbox.

Every time someone incorrectly leaves themselves, the meaning of that word changes a little more. At this point the majority of people calling themselves lesbians in gay spaces are not lesbians. That has an effect on the world and especially on actual lesbians.

That's where the needle rips off the record for me, because a more-accepting world is the world we fought to create for them and they're acting like a bunch of toddlers in a playpen with cream pies and down pillows to fling everywhere. Pearls before swine?

Sadly I have never seen a subculture that didn't get trashed by tourists in this manner once word got out that it was cool. Not once. It happens every time. Is that what's going on here? They think it's a party bus and wanna cram as many onto it as possible?

I note with no small amount of irony that this also happened to the Internet...

they definitely think its a party bus that makes them look cool. a big part of it is also the fetishization of lesbians. there's a reason why straight men aren't demanding to call themselves gay men, but women of all forms are demanding to be seen as lesbians, posting pictures on instagram of them making out with their friends, engaging in threesomes when they're straight, etc.

Ah yes, I keep trying to forget about that shit. Bonus gross points when they (straight women) point their play-acting at actual L/B women for funsies.

Edit: Clarifying which group I mean in the second comment.

If words meant nothing we would literally have no place to put our socks.

"labels don't matter and you can be anything"

You don't understand, they redefined here "you" and it means "I". So this reads like "Labels don't matter [for me] and I can be anything".
