s/detrans exists on this site, for those unaware (they're also listed in our "other subs of interest" page)

It's run by a few of the original mods of r/detrans (who have stepped down from their positions at Reddit)

I am not detrans, but if i was growing up now I would probably be very tempted to transition to male. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a prince and not a princess because I wanted to help my family out financially since they were poor, and I only ever saw princes in stories in action roles, getting stuff done. Kids aren't dumb, the grown ups on the other hand... ay caramba.

same, i was such a tomboy, found 'girly' things shameful and i loved sports. had immense dysphoria when i grew breasts, had a period, and started liking girls. even as a teenager i started powerlifting and i'm rather muscular now. if trans ideology were rampant then i would've been so on board because being a man in society is so much easier than being a woman, right?

god seriously Im 19 and am into "masculine" hobbies like weightlifting and drumming and I dress kinda stereotypical masculine. Ive been apart of radfem circles for over a year now, but even I have very small moments (not serious at all) where Im like... maybe somethings up? And Ive never felt unconfiendent in how tomboyish Ive been my whole life until recently when liking mascline things = trans. It's so ridiculous how insanely regressive TRAs have made society where being a tomboy remotely equals possible reason to transition. It makes me feel weird myself about not being femme. Even though I KNOW how insane it is. I cant imagine being just 5 years younger now.. I so would have fallen for the trans cult. Ive never doubted my sex growing up or have ever felt anything but love for myself when I was growing up as a tomboy.. I feel so sad for tomboys today now will not get to experience that. They are gonna be made to question and feel like something is wrong with them for wanting to learn how to skateboard or wanting short hair or something ridiculous.

Same, I wanted to be a boy so bad.

Desister here. They're a very persuasive cult when you aren't in a good place mentally and they give you an 'out' for your dysphoria. It's just regressive stereotyping, homophobia, and sexism with progressive packaging.

What's a desister? Never heard that before

A desister is someone who went through social transition but did not take hormones or have surgery. Even then I think social transition is not necessary and all it takes is to have identified as trans at some point. Someone who’s had surgery or took hormones is detrans.

I see, thanks.

Yes.

I've noticed many detransitioners/desisters out there are LGB but they're usually not upfront about it because detransition is embarrassing and alienating to talk about to people haven't gone through it.

This has almost gotta be a photoshop with the artwork. i'd be shocked if it was actually the artist behind assigned male...

I'm pretty sure they're just using the graphic to make the point. But I got a lol recognizing that shady ass comic XD
