Lesbian boyfriends

???

TIL that apparently they are lesbians who are uncomfortable with being called a girlfriend so are called a boyfriend. Which sounds like they're going through some internalised homophobia and should be helped to emotionally heal rather than told that they are actually boyfriends.

That is actually very sad, if they mean such lesbians and not transbians.

There is big problem with such stuff because of lesbian erasure. I knew few lesbians here, where any homosexual content was banned and not available, who started to live together and were lost, because they were not knowing who should be "man" in relationships, and they broke up in a year or so because of similar problems occuring all the time while they were living together. And all is because they never saw any different families, there no information about lesbians, nothing. So they tried to replicate regular family, but none wanted to be "a husband". I was young self-hating lesbian who was trying to run away from my sexual orientation, so was not able to help them too. And help is easy - girls, you are both women, no one should be "a man" there, just be a two wives, that's it.

And I saw similar problems, just on much lesser scale, even in USA/UK and other more liberal countries with legalized same-sex marriages. Lesbians need much more movies, games, literature, sites, so young lesbians will not be freaked out, or will not try replicate porn lesbians (like we did with my first gf, we were lost how to do sex, and we were both very suppressed in our own sexuality, so we went watching porn and replicating it...and it was horrible and very unconvinient), and so on.

So, homosexuals can be sexist and heteronormative too, after all everyone is the product of the education and culture they are raised in.

All people are different, so yes, homosexuals can even be homophobic.

But in this case that is not sexism, that is just not knowing how to live as one sex couple, because there no examples and they are just trying to do it the only way they saw.

I guess that is worst in country with strict gender roles. But just being yourself and not trying to emulate heteros.

You don't know about that as teen or young lesbian, who first exploring this field. How can you know what to do? You see every single movie, read romantic books, see your parents and other people around. They all always doing this way, how can you know that it is wrong way for you two? There no information about that around, even in western world, and especially in more homophobic societies.

just being yourself

Sadly, but nowadays being yourself is often a luxury even in western countries. Especially with this new "gender stereotype" craze.

That's right. Having example is very important when you're young.

What about the straight lesbians???

And I see she/her lesbians are missing too...

She/her lesbians are so last century. Although the tweeter did reply to their tweet to state that neopronoun lesbians are also valid but that they had run out of characters to include them.

Lmaaaaaaao. They remembered butch lesbians and not femme lesbians. I wonder if it was actually on purpose 🤦

[–]VioletRemiCat, homosexual one 25 insightful - 12 fun25 insightful - 11 fun26 insightful - 12 fun -  (0 children)

It is because in their eyes "butch lesbians" are transwomen who are lazy to do makeup. I've met a bunch of such ones in dating apps before.

As a Lesbian Lesbian, I feel underrepresented.

I can't wait till these weirdos get the nerve to replace lesbians with het men and start imposing their ideas on them. I am sorry for het men but oh boy will we be entertained

[–]adultxhumanxfemaledie mad about it 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Once they start targeting het men this shit will be over so fast. I don't feel bad for them at all. Maybe they can use their privilege for good even if it's just a consequence and not intentional.

[–]Ricky_Ticky 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Absolutely. I can't wait for it

Yes lol I've always wondered if there's any attempt to push the TWAW bullshit at het men? My guess is that they have been more succesful targeting lesbians since they're more comfortable in a world telling women what to do as usual.

ASPEC-T WARRIOR LESBIANS ARE VALID.

I'm rollin.

[–]BiHorror 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Do I wanna know what that term means? I'm afraid to look it up and get blasted with some TQ+SRGE2425 bullshit. It looks like a shortened form of asexual spectrum trans...

[–]Shinjin_NanaNopes faster than an Aeldari Jetbike 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Oh no, it's a bad Warhammer 40K joke.

Aeldari who are on the Path of the Warrior join shrines of their war god Khaine, and they're called Aspect Warriors as they take on an aspect of Khaine.

I have no idea what an aspec lesbian is. But I like my definition better.

[–]BiHorror 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Ooh! Jesus, I messed that up badly.

[–]Debaser 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I can only think of 'aspic' which is a sort of meat dish inside a gravy like jelly, sort of like the stuff in a scotch egg.

Which in comparison, makes more sense than 'he/him lesbian' 🤣

[–]ArthnoldManacatsaman🇬🇧🌳🟦 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

scotch egg

Are you thinking of a pork pie? Scotch eggs don't have any jelly in them, but pork pies do.

[–]Debaser 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You'll have to forgive me, I'm on a diet 🤣
