Also, I'm going to repeat (because it was already said here) how TERFs are ALWAYS women. As you know, askgaybros have been now attacked by TRAs, YET I don't think I've seen ANY TRA calling any of the gay men who disagrees with the Trans Ideology a TERF. Yet gay men are allowed to say EXACTLY the same shit me and other lesbians say, yet women (and lesbians) are the only TERFs. And they aren't. HOW DOES THAT LOGIC WORK? For the record, this is none of the gay men's fault and I very much appreciate the effort and strength gay men have been showing as a group against TRAs. I'm just venting because it's UNDENIABLE that women and in particular lesbians are always the most targeted and it's infuriating because it's CLEAR men can say the EXACT SAME WORDS but with less or much less consequences. I also don't see TRAs saying "suck my girld*ck" to men. (Has anyone ever seen that? If it did happen, then I apologize).

Yeah, I completely agree. It's fucked up and highlights sexism. Also the fact that transmen are an afterthought. "Transwomen are women" they say... I haven't heard anyone say "transmen are men" without it being attached to the former afterwards. TWAW has been used a lot by itself.

(I'm talking about in public discourse now. "Transmen are men" is brought often by itself in gay specific instances.)

Hmm... I wonder why... if transmen really ARE men then surely they'd have the priviledge men enjoys right?

Terf itself means feminism. It doesn't make sense, because being against trans ideology isn't about feminism specifically. It is just used as a bitch, basically

Exactly!! Which that's why it makes me believe they want an excuse to really blame feminists and a way to shame women in general as well.

I have seen a few gay guys called TERFs (and I myself was called one), but you're right in that it is vastly more commonly used against women. It's frankly a bludgeon to force women to submit to the TWAW narrative...

It's true that trans activists tend to attack women more than they do men (by a lot) but that TRAs don't call gay men TERFs actually makes sense, because there are almost no gay men who are radical feminists. Radical feminists are 99% women. Also I have seen one be called a TERF on occasion and they tend to be pretty quick to point out they're not radical feminists. I think the reason why women get attacked more is because trans-identified men are angry they won't sleep with mentally ill unattractive perverts, and trans-identified women are angry that they are being opposed by a group that usually had their back (feminists) and ideologues tend to hate people on their own team with slightly different opinions more so than people on the other side of the aisle. (see: communists and their hatred of moderate left-wing people)

[–]oofreesouloo⚡super lesbian⚡ 25 insightful - 2 fun25 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Thing is many women aren't even radical feminists (like myself) and are being called TERFs. Any women who is critical of trans ideology will be called TERF (and that's my point). The same doesn't apply to men.

Very good point, I didn't think of that. Very true!

Being against trans ideology isn't a radical feminist thing, though. So, it isn't an insult that makes sense. It just used because it sounds like bitch lol

[–]SeasideLimbs 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

For sure, that was partially my point. That gay men aren't called TERFs because being against trans ideology isn't a radical feminist thing. You have a good point on how it sounds. TERF has a bit of a rough sound to it, so it's probably no wonder they cling to it so hard.

[–]GConly 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

I get called a TERF.. am female but not even close to a radical feminist.

As far as I'm concerned radical feminism is just Marxism with females as the oppressed group. It sticks hardcore to 'all differences are down to oppression and socialisation'. It's got the typical Marxist intolerance to data that doesn't agree with it. It's practically science phobic.

Which I've been trying to coax some if them away from for the past year. We need as a group to be able to use the science correctly to get through to the drs and scientists involved. They are the people who are going to crack this nut eventually.

But most of them still cling to the sixties 'no sex differences' BS that's been shown to be be wrong.

So this transman is planning on breeding some Terfs with he/him's clitty?

Seeing a woman wishing rape upon other fellow women is just so sickening. Like, girl, you've been in this world as a girl/woman for so many years. In fact you hate it so much you want to switch over to being a man. How can you wish rape and slavery upon anyone? And don't give me the 'durr-hurr it's a joke' the fact that you think it's funny at all is the problem.

It would be too much to ask for Aidens to use upstanding male citizens who respect women, as their role models.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I actually think restricting content for young people is a good thing, but even better than that would be to teach them full courses on the psychological impact of media, and make that mandatory. Kids don’t realize how easily they can be manipulated and it would help to make it known to them. Restricting access is okay, but kids will seek what they are not allowed to see, that is the nature of breaking away from parental authority etc, so it’s likely they will find harmful groups and things and not tell anyone because they will get in trouble.

[–]fuck_reddit 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Honestly I think everyone could use a break from social media, media, 24/7 news, clickbait, etc. I'm starting to think that going back to regular print newspapers and a much shorter news cycle would help to calm down politics (at least in America). Also, social media breeds such a toxic and cut-throat environment, then we throw kids into it before they can comprehend the impact it'll have on their future... it's fucked up...

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Social media is actually proven to create depression. I stopped using Facebook in 2016 and my life has been much better. I don’t use any social media apart from forums like this and occasionally read twitter if I want to feel superior to the majority of people using it

[–]fuck_reddit 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I've been trying to do the same. Deleted Facebook and twitter from my phone, highly restricted reddit use after the ban wave, this place, etc. Reading more has definitely helped to reduce stress.

[–]killerjen231 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

More like 21 or 25! If they have restrictions for drinking and renting cars based on an arbitrary age, why not the internet too?

[–]fuck_reddit 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd be fine with a few more age restrictions, my bigger problem is the US has basically four ages of majority. So you can be executed for killing someone at 18, drafted, vote, and sign legally binding documents, but you can't drink until 21, and you can't rent a car until 25. Oh but you can drive your own 4,000 pound machine as low as the age of 14 in the right states. Like, if you're a legal adult, you're a legal adult, drinking, drafting, renting, and voting (I understand the distinction of driving and that's fine at a separate age, cause America is so fucking big).

Good.

Recently, I had an argument with a radfem on whether trans-identifying women belong in women's sex-segregated spaces. My opinion (further affirmed by the OP) is that they don't. Sex-segregated facilities exists to protect women from the sex-based violence of men. Since she decided to forgo that protection by identifying, within that context, as an aggressor, and perhaps even made herself look threatening to women, she doesn't belong anymore.

This reeks of internalized misogyny and frustrated fujo. Sorry, @fuckterfss, but hating other women won't make you hate yourself less. You should find a better hobby than snarling into the digital void while you wait for your seme yaoi hasubando, because you're gong to be waiting a long time.

[–]fuck_reddit 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Honestly, how much of crazy trans behavior is women not knowing how to handle a surge in testosterone and men not knowing how to handle a surge in estrogen... Like imagine going through puberty again in your late teens, but with the opposite sex hormones...

[–]Alma_Esmeraude 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Well not just the hormones, but being radicalized through the internet and social media. It's easy for them to feel like self-righteous crusaders against a nebulous "evil" force. There's no one to be a voice of reason and stop the brakes, because they blow up against anyone that does.

[–]fuck_reddit 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Predominate aspects of puberty are a sense that you are alone in the world, no one understands your feelings, and that everyone is working against you/hates you... easily similar imo... also flashes of anger...
