You know what's "deeply problematic"? It was in 3rd or 4th grade history class, and a boy raised his hand and asked "were there any women back then?" when we were studying Christopher Colombus, because the boats had feminine names (Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria) And then someone was like "Yeah the boats were all girls, and there was a queen..." and our female teacher just looked at us in such a way, and as an adult woman I finally understand that facial expression. So yeah, fuck your "deeply problematic."

Oh for Christ’s sake. Perez opens the book by saying she would be using woman as synonymous for female because all the issues specifically affect females. If they’re so concerned, maybe they can reflect on why they chose to identify out womanhood instead of lambasting a scholar for a reasonable use of language.

Also, the book is brilliant. Y’all should give it a read.

The book is about sexism harming women because of their female biology. Trans activists want us to shut the fuck up about that, because they want to continue the harm. Don't kid yourself this is an accident or a misunderstanding.

Fuck that.

Also, non-binary chose to exclude themselves.

This really annoys me about the non-binary crowd. They want to be 'excluded' when it's convenient - eg sexist expectations, but then 'included' when its to their advantage. It's so self-serving and a big fuck you to the rest of us.

That’s why they can fuck off until they decide to stop throwing women under the bus. The irony of them being mad about Invisible Women is too much, since they all think their womanhood or manhood is invisible enough to be irrelevant to their status in the world.

Yes, it's "I want to be invisible as a woman, but how dare you exclude me from Invisible Women!"

Shots fired. pew pew pew. The binary has spoken.

Ireland allows transgenders to change their "legal gender" just by filling out an application form that is no longer than the form for getting a new passport. We've had such a law since 2015. Now, our Ministet for Children, Roderic O'Gorman, wants to make it so that children under 16 can transition, either with the consent of their parents, or the consent of the courts if the parents refuse. Hopefully his proposal gets rejected.

They are just lying.

"Invisible Women" does include transwomen, because transwomen are in the parts like "all tests are made on male demographics only". Transwomen body and estrogen changes on it can be (and most likely are) more studied than many women-only diseases, about which book is mentioning too.

And half of the book is about gender role of woman, so it should include transwomen and non-binary there too, but seems even they are not believing into "TWAW", if they think that "woman gender" is not including them.

There's a long preface about gender and sex, that was not enough for them. All female-related things MUST centered them, otherwise they cry transphobia!!

TRANSLATION: "women in technology is deeply problematic" - end of sentence. Then: "therefore, we should consider men as women so we get men instead of women.

When I ended my university, it was actually a problem, I was pretty capable engineer / software engineer, but no one wanted to take me to job or even to ask me any questions, I was discarded just for being a woman in "men speciality". I even started signing myself as a man, when applying remotely. Few times HR laughed right into my face. Almost like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFJ6UZ0SkYY&t=26s

Nowadays situation is much better, but I will never forget.
