(For anyone confused, Op's post title links to a post on /s/gendercritical, a short rant about nonbinary teens.)

Anyway, does anyone remember the Trigglypuffs? People who would get "triggered" by random things and imply that they had PTSD, and then their opposition would rush in and be all "OMG HOW DAAARE YOUUUU steal PTSD from actual war veterans who are the only human beings allowed to have PTSD and be triggered?" And then the Trigglypuffs and their handmaidens would be all "OMG REEEEE you can't say that! I am so triggered right now! Literally shaking and crying!" And you would just sit there like... "Yep, I'm Team No One! You both suck."

Well, I just noticed recently that no one gets triggered anymore. I never see those 'here's a long list of shit that triggers me, so instead of me avoiding internet spaces where I might get triggered and working on a solution to my problems, I demand that the entire internet accommodate my irrational demands instead' posts anymore.

I'm sure people are still getting triggered - by which I mean the people who've been silently suffering from PTSD or whatever mental condition still get triggered and silently deal with it like they've been doing their whole lives. (Or hopefully many of them have been healed and found peace as well.) Meanwhile the Trigglypuffs have all been cured and moved on to the next trend.

Here's what the nonbinary graph looks like:

Hopefully it's going to hit a ceiling soon and begin to plummet down again.

You have to be triggered to get over being triggered. The ptsd vets experience is much worse than the triggers people with weak senses of self experience. So the vets are correct about that, generally. Being emotionally unstable in general is a lot different from someone who became emotionally unstable because of actual traumatic experiences. People who are triggered by everyday differences between their opinions and other people’s opinions have to learn to sit through that feeling
