"trans children"

how about everyone and their fae self gets off of the backs of kids and let kids be kids. without tampering with their natural biological processes until they're old enough to understand and comprehend themselves and concepts such as gender ID and the world they live in. Heck, i see grown adult females not knowing what their uterus does and how it functions in their lives since they seem to want to "donate" their wombs for transplants to trans individuals. Oh yeah, my aunt loves being on hormones and extra drugs after her hysterectomy for years now. headdesk

I don't get my news from FB, and I've rarely seen anything antitrans on Fb so far from people's feeds, but okay I'll trust the study.

Go ask some of the rational trans about the reality of transitioning and the medical consequences of it. It's all experimental they'll tell you and carries a great deal of risks. It's not transphobia, it's actual experiences. But hey, everything but experimental medicine is killing trans people apparently... rollsmyeyes. They're the safest demographic according to statistics for crying out loud. Black women are the most in danger from various forms of violence, abuse, and murder according to stats.

But hey, statistics be transphobic and shit.

If you all read the article, it just states that the majority of transgender content on facebook is anti & from right wing sources. I posted it because they continue attacking us for wanting a separate space but there is a huge contingent of people who do not want them to exist.

Projection... it's always projection with TRAs. Everything they accuse us of is always what they are doing themselves.

Except I resent being lumped in with the right. I believe boundaries, push-back, and legitimate questioning of pro-TRA assertions are in order and are the duty of both sides of the aisle. I'm also believe trans people should not be subject to violence, harassment, discrimination, etc. I respect people's requested names and pronouns. I would classify myself as a liberal, the right does not align with my views. I resent being painted as part of the right because my beliefs on the trending views on biology, gender, single-sex spaces, and child development are not in step with TRA. Especially when the homophobic, conversion-therapy-esque voices within TRA which are very much in the vein of the religious right upbringing I escaped are very present.

Also, the right isn't our friend. At all. The similarities are very much surface-level. Both me and some right-wing nutjob can probably "agree" on some headline, but when it comes to actual issues, we'd quickly be angry at one another.

The right is homophobic and sexist. They are other anti-human things too, but those two are relevant. As soon as someone isn't homophobic and sexist anymore, they're not right-wing anymore.

Though it doesn't help that the terminology can mean a million different things, which I make use of when I talk like that, because "the right" isn't explicitly just one party, or even everyone who's "conservative". The American Sports Team Politics are just not useful to discuss LGB and TQ issues in the real world, and I for one am somewhat happy that currently a lot of points of discussion are coming out of the UK, where not every thought is automatically linked to a party, or a specific politician.

100% agreed. This is why we have to start speaking up. People have to know that being against TRA bullshit does not make you right-wing.

And leftists need to know that they can push back the TRA bullshit without having to accept all the right-wing bullshit as well. Spreading this message will definitely increase our ranks.

I think the only reason there are not a lot more left-leaning sources is that the tracists would immediately up and cancel them. Look at J.K. She wasn't even anti-trans or on the right, yet they went full bore against her just for acknowledging biological sex. Many personalities or media on the left is scared sh*tless to say anything less they draw the ire of the woke outrage mob. That's why the discussion is dominated by right. It's the only arena where actual discussion is even allowed. Look at Saidit. The average user is on the right as well. But at least we're not being banned for talking about trans issues.

Yet we still get some people who say the transgender concept is inherently "right wing" which is demonstrably false. The transgender concept is born of postmodernism and critical theory. These are far left ideologies.

What a joke.

No North American left-wing sources will publish anything that isn't TRA- approved as far as I know? Unless you count small feminist websites like WomenAreHuman or FeministCurrent. British socialists will (Morning Star) but the most respectable TRA- critical content comes from The Times.

The Atlantic published Jesse Singal's "maybe don't trans ALL of the children 100% of the time" article and that was edited after publication for being too "transphobic" and put him on a hit list.

They don't do so because we haven't made clear we exist and would support such articles. They're afraid to lose their buyers. We need to communicate more: pushing back against TRA bullshit is compatible with every other left-wing idea.

In fact, it is easy to argue that it is a necessary part of feminism.

Ok. The problem is what? That they don’t get to control 100% of the the narrative?
