It’s almost as though sex is real, gender identity is nonsense and sexual orientation is based on biological sex.

To be fair, he's going through those mental gymnastics because he obviously loves his partner. He realises that she's a woman and he's attracted to women.

I don't blame him for trying to find a compromise. He's just learning the hard way that that's not how life works--sometimes there are no compromises.

It amazes me that it takes so many people so long to realise that love is, in fact, conditional. Anyone who claims to love someone 'unconditionally' doesn't know themselves well enough to have realised what it takes to make a relationship work and what their limits are.

If my partner ever came out as 'a woman' the relationship is over. It doesn't matter how much I may love them but, at that point, the relationship simply can no longer work and yes, my feelings of love will be challenged and start to fall apart.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that many of these trans/non-binary people have never really grown up and come to terms with life, love and everything else. There's an almost tangible narcissism and overinflated sense of entitlement to the way they reason.

Totally agree with you. My partner and I have both discussed this and know that else are lesbians. We both know that if one of us decided we were male or NB that we would no longer be attracted to the other.

People who think love is unconditional tend to end up doing very poorly in life imho. If you have zero expectations of yourself or your partner with poor boundaries you’re in for a bad ride

I used to say in the old sub that literally anyone can become pansexual under the new definition because it's no longer about what sex you're attracted to but what 'gender' you're attracted to, and despite the 'pan' in the name, being attracted to just more than one 'gender' is enough to qualify - even straight people can qualify. A lot of my jokes are based on hyperbole so I think a lot of people thought I was kidding, but whoomp! there it is!

This is why sexual orientation is based on sex & not gender identity. OP is a biological male in a relationship with a biological female, they are in a heterosexual relationship. They are both straight. I swear, why is everyone making it so complicated?

Chick just wanted this straight dude to call himself pansexual so she can tell herself she's 'VaLiD' while she infiltrates LGB spaces that don't belong to her.
