"It's bizarre but a very good thing that Reddit suddenly cares about trans people."

Oh so naive..

More like cares about not being destroyed by the mob.

Probably the same type of people who buy into Wendys and Slim Jims “quirky comebacks” marketing tactics on social media.

Every time I read the words of these maniacs I have to wonder if they've ever actually talked to normal people, y'know - offline. 99% of people don't buy into their bullshit; many of them actively despise trans people. Attacking people like JKR who have, let's say, pretty moderate views, is a questionable strategy imo

I’d say 80-90% of the population doesn’t even know about the JKR controversy. My only friend who knows about it is in woke arts scene circles. None of my gay friends know about it because they’re not involved in the online culture.

Your average parent whose kids are into HP right now definitely doesn’t know or care about it.

This is funny to me. They go on and on about "lions ate my face" when they do the exact same thing, in fact more than anybody, right here. If other people knowing about criticism of your position inherently weakens your position... maybe what you believe is bullshit?

Yeah I would be comfortable betting most of the world doesn't believe men can "become" women. Hell I would bet most of TQ don't truly believe it themselves. It's just a competition.

"I'm the most woke!"

"No, I'M the most woke!!!"

"NO!..."

Hopefully Reddit's ban wave results in the opposite of its intended effect. Y'all are 100% in the right.

New LGB tolerating right wingers

We are not a hivemind! Many of us are right-wing. When will they ever get that into their thick skulls and smooth brains?

Honestly I was happy to see actual acknowledgement of the fact that many anti-TRA LGBs are left wing because it’s been very convenient for their narrative to project and claim we’re all conservative straight people pretending to be gay. But I fully acknowledge that many of those in here are conservative. I just think that shouldn’t be a basis for me to disassociate myself from this group bc whether I support a movement is not based on who’s in it but whether I believe in it and whether it is consistent with my values. Also, you guys are being totally reasonable here and are honestly far more progressive than these censoring authoritarian TRAs and their bullshit ideology.

but I don't either like seeing conservatives use GC lesbians to push their agendas. They often dont actually care about us or what we have to say

"Now all TERFs have is Tumblr"

That's where the trans extremist crap started. Was that suppose to be some kind of insult to try to rub something in?

[–]Minerva 16 insightful - 3 fun16 insightful - 2 fun17 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Not exactly. Tumblr has always had a thriving radfem community, surprisingly enough. It's gotten much larger within the past two years.

[–]zeusdx1118 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Really? That's good to know. I've never seen them though. (Though, I haven't used tumblr since 2013.)

[–]Yamyam 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Wow. Never knew. I ditched tumblr because of the porn ban.

Once in a blue moon, they tell the truth. Accidentally, to be sure.

[–]oyasuminasai50 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Sad that they're aware that the opposing viewpoint would be more popular if they weren't actively censoring it.

They're also acutely aware that their preferred social media echo-chambers don't remotely reflect public sentiment. That LGB "tolerance" can now reach across the political aisle, while the TRA utopia of coerced/forced conversion therapy(through hormones, surgery, or sex) for gays is only really supported by far-left wokesters and far-right theocrats. They're working with borrowed good will and they know it.

[–]Parakarry 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

One of the first signs of a cult is acknowledgement that if anyone outside the "group" knew of the behavior, they'd disapprove.

No so much what JKR said, but more the triggered response the tra gave, has brought a lot of public eyes onto the gross rape culture they push.

[–]SpatOuttheKoolaid 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I've noticed the trend of "don't bother to read what JKR said, she's a horrible transphobe and you must just accept that and condemn her"

[–]ZombieSazza 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Lmao reddit only cares because reddit is anti-women (look at the amount of violent porn subreddits still alive, and the mess of r/PCOS) and anti lesbian

Reddit also only cares because money talks

[–]SpatOuttheKoolaid 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Also, there are a lot of transwomen working in tech in Silicon Valley.

[–]Stand 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's because they know we're actually right lol.

So, how do we prove that this is the only correct thing they've ever said? how do we make ourselves public and get the support of everyone else?
