I read the comic and his mom always looked asian to me anyway, he didn't but he was part white alien and part asian then so wouldn't look super asian.

They made his gf amber black but at least not Atom Eve who is a much more major character, he breaks up with Amber quick. Hopefully they don't change that tho.
