With shows like scrubs and the golden girls pulling episodes for tenuous reasons, I think it's become clear that this is more about the media being terrified of the current climate and desperately self-harming in order to prevent themselves being the next in the mob's sights.

Most shows and movies can be streamed without the need to download them. Search for Putlocker or 123movies (not via Google) and you should be good to go. Please make sure you got a good anti-virus running though, there are a lot of copies of those sites which are filled to the brim with viruses.
