In the 10th Anniversary book Watterson wrote a brief commentary on this comic where he mentions reading a bunch of art critique books to get a feel for how these articles were written. That book was released 25 years ago, and I don't even remember when this particular comic was first published.

This ideology has been going on for decades, and we ignored it because we figured it would go away on its own. That was about as wise as ignoring a cancerous lump.

This is when I learned the joys of an oral report. Toss together about 100 words of an outline and fluff up the rest on the go. Worst I ever got after figuring that out was a B. ;]

It's funny 'cause it's true. And I know it's true...because I employed this trick countless times during my middle school, high school, and college years.
