no not "whatever", it's an appropriation of the term Semitic. I know it's an adjustment but we don't want to do wrong things, right? We should use the word anti-Jewish only when we're talking about negative sentiment regarding Jewish stuff. We should politely inform others that it's the right word to use if they use it incorrectly as happened in OP. I might not be the best at this yet but I think it's a step in the right direction instead of just keeping quiet about it. Semites deserve better than this appropriation.

They certainly do. Iranians, Iraqis and Syrians are clearly semites too. Appropriating "semite" is the same as those rich jewish celebrities stating how they're "ashamed of being part of the white race." Where does it end?
