Most interesting. You do not see many flying buttresses these days.

Many years ago I read a book called Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, the non-fiction book that is the basis for Dan Brown's fictional DaVinci Code. The authors of the former book unsuccessfully sued Dan Brown, but I digress. The original book is still in print.

Holy Blood-Holy Grail, as it is usually called, begins in a Knights Templar castle in the South of France, where something is found in the cornerstone that leads the three authors on a quest. The gist of the book is that there was a man named Jesus as we have heard, but in fact, he took a wife, Mary Magdalen, and they had children or a child. Much of this is in Brown's ripoff, uh, book. The Holy Grail is a metaphor for the bloodline of Christ, that according to the original book, is the Merovingian Royal lineage that ruled in Europe and perhaps continues today, but not according to Wikipedia. That is, they are no longer kings, but the lineage may go on as lineages tend to do. Maybe the Knights Templar still guard a man who in the descendant of Christ. That last sentence may be something I made up.

In the video the narrator suggests that the Knights Templar are guardians of the Pharaohs' lineage. Could it be that the Christ story was used to allow the Pharaonic lineage to continue and rule much of Europe? It might also help explain why the Vatican is guarded by Swiss. Nothing in this paragraph is suggested in Holy Blood-Holy Grail as I remember.

I see the three authors of Holy Blood-Holy Grail have a new edition that is revised, called Messianic Legacy. On the cover it's called "the sequel to" the original.
