I started searching for more information about the Japanese man who was reported to be arrested, but did not find answers for such questions as: Did the man go to jail? Did he bail out? Did he have a mugshot? Where is his YouTube channel?

Little is said about the man that was supposedly arrested, but a lot more attention was given to specific games with YouTube videos available to watch more about the game. These games might have enjoyed a lot of advertising and promotion for this one story that was repeated many times on the internet.

To put those numbers into perspective, Germany currently has 21 million migrants out of a population of 83 million. Meaning this article is comparing a country in which one fiftieth of its population is migrants to countries in which one quarter of its population is migrants.

The author can try again when 25% of Japan's population is migrants, particularly ones who are starkly at odds with Japan's culture. See whether they still react "with a shrug" then.

Well… that depends. It's obviously not black and white. I have exceedingly strong opinions on this, so let's see how neutrally I can write it!

On the one hand, some people would consider that, since the distinguishing features between sexes are the primary and secondary sexual characteristics, in order to be legally considered a particular gender one must share the sexual characteristics commonly associated with that gender.

On the other hand, some people consider that, since gender is a psychological phenomenon, that is the sole requirement for legal characterisation as such.

I'm running out of hands, but yet other people would consider gender to be a social phenomenon, and argue one way or another based on their cultural interpretation of that.

Now. Guess which I hold to be true.
