Bruschetta Classico
Get a loaf of bread, you can use a baguette for this or any rustic bread. Slice the bread in 1.5 centimetre slices and toast them until they're crispy.
Now take a clove of garlic and start rubbing it all over the flat side of the bread, kinda like you would use a crayon to write on a wall. Use the clove of garlic to rub/scrape it all over the toasted crispy bread, don't skip this step, it's important. Do this on all your slices, you might need 2 or 3 cloves, depending on how much you're making.
Now take some extra virgin olive oil and drizzle some oil over the side where you just rubbed the garlic on.
Now sprinkle a pinch of salt over it.
Now take some fresh juicy tomatoes, try to use some good quality sun grown tomatoes and dice them up into small little cubes and add some on the bread.
Now chop some FRESH basil leaves into small pieces and sprinkle it on top of the tomatoes.
You can finish it off with a little bit of black pepper if you want to add a kick to it but it's not necessary.
There you have it! A delicious healthy quick snack to help you through these hard times.
I'm teaching you the classic version, but feel free to be creative and make your own creations and add other stuff on it, you can add whatever you want as long as you follow the first 4 steps; toasting the bread, rubbing the garlic, adding olive oil and salt, after that go crazy and try out what you like best.
I also highly recommend for everyone to start growing their own basil plant at home, buy some seeds and grow it in a pot on your balcony or even indoors, it adds a great aroma to your house and you'll always have fresh herbs available for your food.
Same goes with parsley and rosemary etc. Grow your own herbs! Don't buy it from the store, it's much better to grow your own plants so you can just take it directly from the plant and use it in your food. It's so much better than the herbs you buy from the supermarket.
