Hey all, I've been lurking here for a little while but I'd like to get a little more involved with the community.
I started off on Digg and left around Digg v4 (2010), then switched over to reddit which was great for a while but started going downhill for me around 2014 or so. I deleted my main account in 2016, and I still lurk on a few subs even though it has gotten increasingly worse especially the past year or so.
I started posting on voat around then, which although right-leaning it was still tolerable. Finally the racism and groupthink got to the point that I removed my account there also.
Some of my interests include travel, camping, hiking, liberty/freedom, guns, gardening, linux, cryptocurrency, video games, cyberpunk subculture, and reading (scifi, fantasy, psychology, history, science, russian literature).
Some other social media sites I visit:
notabug - really like the idea of a decentralized / federated aggregator
ycombinator - programming and tech discussion
slashdot - been visiting for years
Raddle - despite the far left leaning there's some interesting stuff there
Tildes - A bit too censored for me but still some good discussions
Minds - best facebook alternative I've found so far, although not a lot of content.
