The lack of diversity in online communities reflects the homogenization of culture in society. The proliferation of advertising in the twentieth century instilled this mindset in people of perpetual need and inadequacy, creating consumers who never feel fulfilled. Social media has had a similar effect in ruining communities, by encouraging behaviors which attract the most attention (to advertising), while robbing us of more constructive meaning and purpose.

We need culture creators who can escape the current paradigm, not merely resist it, but conceive of an alternative which is fully independent. This requires a revolution against finance, government, and industry, every facet of the globohomo hellscape which has overtaken the world must be uprooted.
