It isn't only mod power, but also the admin policies there. I mean if I started a free speech subreddit, the admins would quickly shut it down.

Political zealots effectively infiltrated the admin team and have now imposed their politics on the whole site. Reddit is done for.

I'm thinking it, along with many other places, we're always that way. The left hadn't earlier been as underpants in head crazy earlier, leaving fewer contentious topics. I recall with the atheist/sceptic communities how it all suddenly changed, with feminism being the one unquestionable matter. Most other topics trundled along, only that one having one acceptable position.

The Trump reaction really kicked things into overdrive, NPC content expansions being issued damn near hourly. I reckon it was always this bad, in principle at least.
