less than human: such as: failing to attain the level (as of morality or intelligence) associated with normal human beings.
For an obfuscated example of a physical subhuman, there are certain races that appear to lack the genetic profile that constitutes a homo sapien. Not coincidentally, the moral and intelligence attributes cited in the above definition are closely linked with this example. A plausible case has been made, but as a non-geneticist I can't vouch for the technical claims, and it's difficult to find this information, for obvious reasons. However, standard racial awareness will typically yield the same result.
