Feel free to sub and still stop by. We have other subs that are for men, too but are in the process of being made. And thanks!

I'm just happy to see more people that aren't right wing white men (this is simply a joke about the people who just comment racial slurs and not meant to be anything more than a joke) haha. I'm someone who really enjoys diversity so seeing the platform expand makes me happy. I was actually considering leaving, but seeing stuff like this makes me want to keep giving it a chance.

Edit: clarification on a joke

It's good to see diversity of opinion, but I fail to see what anyone's race has to do with anything. Sure, people of different races may offer a unique opinion on some things but it shouldn't be expected that they all conform to the same opinion, which may be opinions you find abhorrent. Would you feel the quality of the conversation had improved because a large group of members of the Nation of Islam came here? Because they're actually a lot more right wing then many of the right wingers on here. Are they simply an improvement because of the colour of their skin? At the very least that's tokenism if not racist to both races.

People's immutable characteristics are not something they should be judged on. And fyi I've spent a lot of time here calling out those right wing people for the exact same thing, I'm just holding everyone to the same standard.

So, please just have a think about it and don't pour more petrol on the racial bonfire. There's enough of that about as it is

Recognizing groups or particular characteristics of certain individuals is a form of signaling. Usually when people use terms such as POC, they are attempting to endear themselves to the in group. In this case, It's mostly virtue signaling.

Yep. There are no races or sexes on the internet, unless you make it point to let everyone know. Of course it fits into conversation when appropriate, but, in general, it's not necessary to introduce yourself by race and gender.
