This may be a wild ride for a while, as the predominant people I'm seeing on here are Gender Critical folks and then some other folks who keep insisting that the power structure of the U.S. is full of communists and Jews. So like, the literal Nazis are here with what would have been called the "Feminazis" in the 90's. On the one hand, I'm happy to see free speech even if I vehemently disagree with some of it. On the other hand, this is so dystopian that we're stuck with the Nazis.

For real though... I dont like censorship and I believe science (and sex) is real and I guess we get banned for that now.

The thing is though, I'm not a hateful liberal authoritarian either. I don't have an authoritarian "ban everyone that doesn't agree with me" mindset and I don't need hateful liberal fanaticism to fill space inside me that should have been filled with a mother's love. I don't send death threats and I try to treat folks with respect.

I don't hate on people, I believe everyone's life has value (yes including white people) and I march with BLM and gay rights movements because other people aren't treating their lives as valuable and that's bullshit. I def don't want to be grouped with Nazis and racists bc those are also hateful authoritarian ideologies. Racism and antisemitism and sexism are. also. real. 2020 is the year of false dichotomies, nuance and respect is dead.

I wish we could all just have open discussions so we can learn from other points of view. But I guess outrage sells the most, for print and the Internet.

Me too.

I remember when the ACLU defended the right of the KKK to have their infamous parade in Skokie, Ill.

I don't think people from outside the USA understand how important the 1st Amendment is to many Americans.

I was raised in a cult, (just now realizing it IS a cult, SGI) and our speech and thoughts were controlled.

Never again.

It's inhuman.

Amen. Jesus Christ what a ride. Everyone on reddit should have seen the writing on the wall when they banned fatpeoplehate and when blackpeopletwitter became a literal black supremacy sub

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, apparently.

We don't mind you don't agree with us, just give everyone the fair shake they deserve.
