Sorry this is a copypaste from a response I made to another guy here, so you may have read it, but I did also want to respond to your honest question too. To find the details I recommend you search google or youtube. When I sobered up to Molyneux, it was many many years ago. But here is the short explanation as copied from another response.

"Well in fact I used to be subbed to his channel at the start of youtube. The one thing that made me unsub had to do with this you talk about. FYI I actually did psycho-analysis as a major in university :p.

What got me was that he was using his pseudo psycho-analysis in the same way cults do; requesting the first thing a follower do is cut all ties with the family. There were other things, but this was when I saw he really was imo a dangerous manipulator, as like all cults he was preying on weak people, trying to disconnect them from all other influences in order to control them.

I'm sure by now he has adapted his game in various ways as he is no doubt intelligent and very persuasive. Just now and then I type something like I did, in the hope of getting through to some persons. "

I don't like his "de-foo" thing, but I think he was more into that before Id heard of him.

yeah :( a lot of these people are pretty forceful ... "If you follow my way then your life will get better because I said so!" ... it does feel kindof off when you talk about it this way.

Thanks for passing on the warning. Lots of people fall for these things... we should have something better for people in that situation I feel. So people have a safer place to go that won't take advantage of them where they're less likely to get preyed on.
