Yes, SearXNG is a fork of SearX, which is described as a "privacy-respecting, hackable metasearch engine" that is open source and self-hostable. I've run a private instance of the core SearX for a few years, but I've considered hosting a public instance to add to the list of 104 public builds of SearXNG that are currently available. I recommend everyone try SearX/NG first before caving to use a seach engine that may put their privacy at risk, especially one that's 100% spyware such as Google. Add it to your bookmark bar, because unfortunately there are issues making it the default search engine in most browsers.
