It works on all sites that allow the google crawler. That's where they grab the page data.

Running a site through archive.today works well also.

ok, i dont get it... i tried looking at an article that is behind a paywall..

https://www.wsj.com/articles/bitcoin-creator-satoshi-nakamoto-could-be-unmasked-at-florida-trial-11636808401?mod=hp_lead_pos6

so how do i use this 12ft thingy to see the entire article?

This is a tough case. You can use privacy wall to find the full article on another website instead: https://www.privacywall.org/

edit: Drewski has mentioned archive.today too: https://archive.ph/bdbaG

How does it work?

The idea is pretty simple, news sites want Google to index their content so it shows up in search results. So they don't show a paywall to the Google crawler. We benefit from this because the Google crawler will cache a copy of the site every time it crawls it.

All we do is show you that cached, unpaywalled version of the page.

I'm guessing they block the google crawler. Works on sites that don't block the crawler.

Thank you very much!! This is really useful. Almost everyone is using paywalls now. Its ridiculous.

It didn't work on NYT, but it did work on Forbes.

Works on Dailymail. That's where the adblock message is from. WSJ apparently blocks the google crawler, which is where 12ft gets the content.
