I've had the internet through most of my childhood, though it used to be a much less integral part. Back in the dialup internet days, I actually had to sit down at the computer and go online, it wasn't the ubiquitous thing that's constantly available on all our devices all the time.

I used to read a lot more books, spend more time outside, more time with friends. One thing I've noticed is that the way information is presented and consumed online has drastically reduced my attention span. I read The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains by Nicholas Carr not too long ago and he discusses this extensively.
