How private is neocities capable of being?

This looks promising

My only problem is how vaguely they define "harassment":

Using the Services to transmit any material (by e-mail, uploading, posting, or otherwise) that harasses another either by the frequency of the activity or by the content.

They don't say how frequent an activity has to be or what content is considered a violation. I may seem paranoid, and I am, but this is exactly how Reddit justifies censoring political opinions.

If they define it exactly, then trolls will do exactly just short of that line. If you're that site's admin, what do you do then?

If you define it exactly, and it is well written, I don't believe trolls can, or will abuse your policies. The problem is most people don't spend much time writing their policies. They just write something general, or copy, and paste.

LOL. Well I won't count your lack of experience or knowledge against you

It doesn't have to be exact or vague. It can be well-defined while leaving plenty of wriggle room for special circumstances. In this case it was defined only to the minimum extent possible. It was one of the shortest sections of their acceptable use policy, only being a single sentence. Considering how "harassment" is the go-to for left-wing censorship I'm quite reluctant to trust a website which has no prior reputation with me. I know it's been around for years, but I just learned about it today.

The word "harassment" is used in some many ways it's basically meaningless. They should think properly about what actions they are trying to censor, and write it out in a clear way.

I'm sure if you email them and suggest a better wording, and point out this was the major criticism saidit.net's userbase had, they can fix it.
