It depends on how bad the typo's are. If its the old your you're youre then there is a 95% chance they are jerks.

If it is a grammar issue then this drops to about 80-85% chance of jerkdom.

If it is an issue of punctuation then there is a 2000% chance the person doing the correcting is a complete wanker.

    If someone is correcting you when it is your second language then they should be more careful with their phrasing. If they are not, then they are more than likely to be a jerk. For example:

    What about the issue of second language?

    This could be rephrased as What about the second language issue? which is an incredibly complicated/academic way of speaking. If someone were to tell you to talk/type like that, then they are probably a jerk.
