I'd like to see this graphed over time somehow. It's possible we actually have more choices than in the past.

I see a lot of local products on the shelves in my local grocery stores.
And I'm talking Kroger, not Whole Foods or Wegman's here.

As I mentioned there, a lot of stores have a store brand in them, so there is some choice against these companies. Any well-established brand which isn't the store brand will usually be from one of these companies, though.

And I'm guessing they all sit on each other's boards.

It looks like a giant hole that sucks out your life essence.
