Basically the discourse around native headdresses in the US is complete bullshit based around bullying ordinary people and so even the woke Canadians can be bothered to give it the slightest consideration.

Because indians themselves make the headdresses to sell to hippies and tourists and make money out of it. Then middle class natives and Elizabeth Warrens try to stop them earning a wage because it hurts their feelz. Average Indians will also happily dress their toddlers up in feather headdresses so they clearly don't don't take them too seriously.
