It's always people that are just doing their own thing and coping that get treated like shit and people who bully and hurt others get anything they want. The more vicious and sociopathic you are the more money, pussy, friends, and status you get. Being a NEET watching anime all day will get you ostracized and mocked but war criminals and gangsters get nothing put praise. Scientists and programmers who create the modern world get called nerdy losers but chad jocks that beat people up for no reason become popular and get to fuck all day long.

Is this just a western thing or what?

I think it's a western thing, but happens a lot more in places with a high concentration of gypsies. I also think it happens less in Asia, like Japan or China, with the obvious exception of the Cultural Revolution period.

When low IQ idiots get to make the rules, this is the kind of world they create.

It's not clear to me that assholes are more succesful that morally upright people.

NEETing is also morally bad in my eyes and a bad example. I was a NEET myself for a period so this is not an attack, but I acknowledge that I siphoned resources out of society for my own benefit without giving back
