he's probably not really magic, just an alien, and can create a simulation but not anything in his own real world.

If you can simulate concious beings, it's not that hard to put that conciousness in a robot, even if it won't like the real deal.

But navigating a simulated world should not be much more complex than navigating the real world, unless it is orders of magnitude more complex.
