personally, i'm into lemmy and letting multiple small sites/instances handle the liability of hosting free speech. I'm not in a hurry to have the full legal liability of owning/hosting a free speech site like say prime Ruqqus and prime Voat. (Edit: but I very much strive to volunteer my anonymous services in support of free speech)

Are you willing to have a deeper conversation on the subject of how best to have free speech social forums? If yes, start a new thread somewhere on this and let's dig into the details.

Imo the tech is there, a site just needs a principled owner and admin team to throw down for free speech according to the US legal standard. Ruqqus and Voat were both fairly successful for sticking to this plan. There are no legal or technical or financial limitations, just a lack of balls.

But yes I'm always willing to discuss these things, and I'm always willing to help out. I've gained some decent skills around hosting controversial shit, by helping out with with place for so long.
