What is the benefit of using wind power to generate hydrogen instead of electricity? Is it because of storage?

100% green. "Electricity" can be green or not, depending on how it is produced. In the US, around 2/3rds of electricity is made by burning coal or natural gas.

A wind turbine can produce electricity outright. Why use wind turbines to make hydrogen, adding an extra step to the process, when you'll use hydrogen to convert it back to electricity? It seems less efficient. The only beneficial reason I see is that batteries still need improvement.
