I had many male customers give me shit for being a woman and lifting heavy boxes and bags because “it’s not women’s work”. I had a guy get mad at me because he asked for help getting bags to his car and he was offended I was the one who helped because “I thought you’d ask a boy to”. I got pretty sick of men constantly being emasculated by me doing my job and have learned to stand up to them but it’s ingrained into women to shut up and let men say dumb shit all the time so that was hard.

Hard physical labor does wonders to a woman's body too: strong, firm and shapely. Paradoxically, that's exactly the kind of build that most men will find attractive, yet the brainwashing that physical labor isn't good for them, or isn't appropriate, dominates.

Interestingly, for centuries women would chop wood with a heavy axe, put on the 60lb soup/stew kettle on the fire, clean that thing, lift kids all day, scrub clothes by hand in a way that would make a lot of men moan with the pain of the effort of that kind of work.

But yeah be still and flabby so we can criticize your shape.

I've never met anyone that said both of those things at the same time, but there are probably some hypocrites like that. I agree with the top headline and disagree with the bottom.

"Box" is an old school female euphemism.

Saying two completely different sentences at the same time is extremely difficult. I don't doubt some people may be able to do this, but I agree, it must be exceptional.

I once ate lamingtons. Quite nice when fresh. Ended up going stale as I bought too many. Such is life.
