And here it is: "The guidelines come as new drug treatments for obesity in kids have emerged, including approval late last month of Wegovy, a weekly injection, for use in children ages 12 and older. "

How long until we see the ads for the class action suits against this drug?

About 5 years.

Dayum! Seems like we're abandoning any pretense of medical ethics at this point for a money grab.

In studies with rodents, Wegovy and medicines that work like Wegovy caused thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer.

I'd rather see sensible diet (CICO) and nutrition information taught in schools. Nobody ever just says, you just need to eat less and that's unpleasant and while there are things you can do to help, dieting is going to be work.

Usually they say you need to eat healthy. So people add carrots with ranch to their diet and wonder why they're not magically losing weight.

I didn't even know how to lose weight until a few years ago. That's kind of embarrassing, but better late than never. From Reddit of all places.

I didn't know because they taught a lot of bullshit in schools and there's a lot of misinformation out there. Lots of fad diets and bad advice.

No one pays good money for that

The advice should be: stop eating sugar and grains. You evolved to eat meat, not grass.
