So, I have pitting edema. And high blood pressure. From just these 2 symptoms, I appear to be a candidate for potassium supplementation.
However, any time I supplement this mineral, my heartbeat becomes irregular and seems to skip 1-2 beats every 5 seconds or so. It is bothersome.
What are the possible reasons for this? Anybody have a clue? I understand the effects of potassium on the heart, but irregular heartbeat from just 100mg in a 330lb subject seems a bit weird, especially in what appears to be a clear-cut case of hypokalemia.
Now, don't tell me to go see a doctor. If that's your answer, keep it to yourself. This is a discussion about how human biology works. Thanks
there doesn't seem to be anything here
