Most informed people knew knew this was going to happen, it's just a matter of if it offset the deaths from corona. And now we know it doesn't, because we know the corona death rate is 1/10th what we originally thought it was. So therefore as long as the hospitals aren't overwhelmed (when they aren't, most are half-empty because people are scared to go to the doctor) then no shutdowns should be occurring.

One thing about this crisis is that it's highlighting how much science and governance are divorced from each others.
