As I travel the USA quite often those type of sign mean nothing. I carry 100% wherever I go with exception of legal no-gun zones where one has to pass through a metal detector port. Otherwise my .45 snug in a very excellent shoulder harness hanging under left arm. Nice cowboy vest and upon close inspection no one knows.

He wasn't breaking the law. The only thing the management could have done is ask him to leave and called the police if he refused. Like you said, if you conceal carry, it's not a problem because no one knows.

What angered me is some old hags mouthing off "he broke the law" and quite no he did not. If and when I see a "gun free zone" sign I simply ignore it.
