I think groupies are groupies because they like to openly brag about all the famous people they've had sex with. Why else have sex with someone famous? You know it's a one-night-stand, you know you will never have a real relationship with them. So what's the benefit of having sex with someone famous, knowing it's going to lead to nothing? The only benefit for these women is the social clout that comes with being able to say: "I've had sex with a VIP.".
