Interesting piece of history about the mongol empire vs vietnam: mongols were defeated by the vietnamese three times. Futureisgold is right. For the most part, looks like only fellow goldens are able to defeat other goldens from dominating the rest of the planet during a fair direct confrontation.

Top five countries that defeated the mongols. Three out of five of them are golden nations. They were the most impressive, especially the vietnamese, because they're geographically located closest to the mongolian homeland and the heart of their empire.
