There are no "borders" ...

The same as there is no "private" "property" ...

But that's some deep Mysticism, i'll openly admit.

Patriotism ≠ belief in borders.

I know. But "patriotism" as it "is" is rather pointless.

My thinking on this goes like this: Mostly patriotism is used to construct "reasons" to wage war.

War is a waste of energy, resources and especially souls, but also immanently a part of a society that relies on abundance of "everything" all the time as a principle.

Only when there is perpetual destruction, there are reasons for perpetual recreation of the same old bs, so to say.

It's hard to describe or explain without diving too deep into these seemingly endless rabbit holes of absurdities.

I'm quite sure, you already thought about that one, too.

Insightful.

I have thought about it.

And my best nutshell summary: Patriotism is a blindness.
