Funny how the top comments all disagree with that post.

Which shows the opposite: this is not a reflection of the GC community.

It's also heavily upvoted.

Well we can't downvote here so that isn't an indicator of how popular it is.

[–]theachan[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It still shows that about 75 people found that insightful.

No, it doesn't. Saidit doesn't have any kind of protection against bots, or TRAs aiming for a false-flag style attack. Why are barely any of the dozens of comments supportive if this is actually a reflection of the community? Seems more likely that the ones upvoting aren't part of the community.

Honestly, you're just making us look good by pointing out a slightly mean comment which was heavily disagreed with in the comments, hahaha.

What part of this is hateful, just out of curiosity? Not that I believe an actual gender critical woman posted this to begin with, obvious false flag is obvious. Still though, there's no "hate" there. Thinking someone isn't all that good looking is insulting, yes, however hateful it isn't. Maybe you're projecting. Do you hate people who aren't beautiful or brave or a certain sex?

[–]theachan[S] 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

Hate is insulting a group of people for no other reason whatsoever.

If somebody says "Women are all ugly cowards", wouldn't that be anti-woman? Couldn't you use it to infer that that person hates women?

[–]cybitch 31 insightful - 3 fun31 insightful - 2 fun32 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

Women have been called worse throughout history, so I wouldn't be too bothered. Nonetheless, the post doesn't say trans people are ugly cowards, it says they aren't stunning and brave. Stunning and brave are adjectives most normal people realize don't apply to them. So if someone said to a specific subset of women "you're not beautiful and brave" I would NOT take that to mean they hate women. It's insulting and not necessarily something that needs to be expressed, but I wouldn't call it hateful as the vast majority of people are not beautiful and brave, no matter who they are. If a subset of women insisted on being called beautiful and brave and stunning and took anything less than that to be "hateful", I would think they were being entitled and ridiculous. And if someone made a post like that as a response to said women demanding to be treated to such compliments I would think it was spot on. I don't like entitled, demanding people who expect everyone to compliment them.

Okay, you're right. "hateful" is a too strong word.

However, it is very much insulting, and definitely uncalled for. Additionally, while it may not have been posted by a GC user, the upvotes show their opinion towards it.

It's a stab that you're taking for absolutely no reason - even if it's just a prick to the finger.

[–]drxc 14 insightful - 4 fun14 insightful - 3 fun15 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

It's definitely insulting and uncalled for. On reddit or twitter or other such pandering websites, you could run to mummy and daddy and get them banned, but in the real world adults have to deal with insults in other ways.

Yeah, like mocking people.

Did you even bother to read the responses

Top was:

This reads like a parody of what TRAs think Gender Critical is. Most of us are concerned with protecting the rights of women and girls, not engaging in an insult war.

Sometimes I wish there was a downvote function on here, lol.

Yes, so I could downvote this comment. "Neener neener neener"—which is what OP amounts to—isn't quality discourse or good praxis. It just shits up the sub.

Agreed. No need to attack dysphoric people alongside the AGP/Degenderettes/Insane Clown Posse types. Good guideline is to remember to hate ideologies, not people.

Literally every response is like this.

Saidit is a small forum, with a lot of hardline alt rights hanging around and GC posts routinely make front page here. You shouldn't take the upvotes as GC endorsement.

If they were still on reddit you could report that post and likely get it removed by reddit's pro-trans admins, now you can't. Congratulations dipshits, banning them only gave them the ability to be more extreme.

It blows my mind that people are celebrating all these "bad" subreddits being banned because it "deprives the terfs and bigots of a platform", not realizing that as those people search for other platforms to regroup on they may very likely end up on actual far right platforms that will welcome them with open arms. Their foresight really doesn't extend past the nose they have buried deep inside their assholes.

She's not wrong. I would rather die than (sexually) touch a man.

You can migrate, too, right ... as if you are going to have traction on a site without censorship. Go fuck yourselves. Welcome to saidit.

There is no admin staff you can suck up to here to get other subs banned, so your bullshit won't work here. At the first sign of hurt feelings you're going to run back to Reddit or another censored site.

But some of you people should join s/Gender_Critical and s/GenderCritical. That would be hilarious.

I recall admins having to go after that account repeatedly on GC. Just because you read the title of a post that expresses one thing, doesn't mean that the rest of the people within a community share the same feelings with that person. Embittered people exist, and it was made expressly clear within the comments section that it's not a universally shared feeling among GC community people.

Mean for the sake of being mean. She's allowed to think that. Sure, but the delivery and way it's presented makes her seem like a total bitch. Not every trans person is this stereotypical caricature they have built up in their heads. Not every trans person is like Jessica Yaniv.
